Trident GP3 Austria Race 2 review

5 - ANTONIO FUOCO

The Sprint Race held on Sunday was run for most of its distance behind the safety-car, that led the pack for ten straight laps at the start due to the heavy rain and the standing water. Once the safety-car went back in, Antonio lost and then recovered a couple of positions up to the third place. Shortly after, another caution was called by the stewards and the young Italian continued to protect his position. In the closing stages, Monegasque racer Charles Leclerc made contact with Tatiana Calderon and team-mate Jake Dennis. That brought the safety-car back in, leading the pack until the checkered flag fell. Despite the lack of action in the Sprint Race, meaning that only two clean laps were completed, Antonio scored his second podium finish of the season, securing third place in the driver standings.

6 - ARTUR JANOSZ

Despite the fact that the safety-car situations froze the field for most of the time, reducing the opportunities for passing, the young Pole started from the 11th position on the grid to end up in 9th. Although the weather prevented him and the team from fighting, the result scored and the positive management of the car in treacherous conditions awarded the team’s work and the momentum gained.
