Team Aero Lewis Racing drivers Aaron Scott and Keith Ahlers were at Brands Hatch on October 2 & 3 for the final rounds of the 2004 British GT Cup Championship.
The duo were back in the original Morgan Aero 8 which had been rebuilt following a fire at Silverstone in August. Free practice proved the team were back on form setting 4th fastest time. Keith and Aaron then set 4th fastest times in their respective qualifying sessions.
Race one, held on Saturday evening was held in dry conditions and Keith drove a strong opening stint to hand the car over to Aaron in 3rd position. Aaron maintained this position to the flag to score a comfortable podium finish for the team. Race two, held in very wet conditions, took place on Sunday and this time it was Aaron who drove a strong opening stint also handing the car over to Keith in 3rd position after the pit stops. Keith maintained position to the flag and closed right in on the 2nd placed Ferrari.
Aaron said, " I am thrilled with the two podiums this weekend. The car is running really well again and the team richly deserve this result for all their hard work this season. I'd like to thank our sponsors - Omnico, Aerospace Fasteners, Livespace, Epson Motor Company and Building Environmental Services for their support."
Keith Ahlers said, " I'm really pleased to have finished the season on a high and we have made tremendous progress with the car this season. It has been a pleasure working with Aaron and we hope we can keep him on next year and build on this seasons successes ."
The team will now head to Bahrain for a non championship GT race to be held at the end of November.
