A new adventure begins for the FIA GT Championship and for Matteo Bobbi.
For the second last round of the 2004 season, the championship moves to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) for the first time ever. This long awaited event promises to be action packed and Matteo Bobbi who is presently in second place in the classification is looking forward to this new experience.
Bobbi doesn’t know what to expect of this new track which is 5.39 km long. The heat will also be a factor that can’t be ignored. At present, the temperature is 38°C and so this round will definitely be physically challenging for the drivers.
Matteo has a 12 point advantage over the 3rd place drivers and counts on solidly keeping his position in the classification. Bobbi has managed to keep himself in great shape for this event by participating in a promotional Formula 3000 international race last weekend with the Coloni Motorsport team in Porto rose, Slovenia on Saturday, October 2.
This was Matteo’s first experience in a Formula 3000 car and he would like to thank the Coloni team for this special invitation. Matteo cut the finish line in 3rd place on Saturday. Not bad for someone’s first experience in this type of single-seater.
Matteo Bobbi: “I think that this weekend’s race in Dubai will be a memorable one for all of us. I look forward to competing in this new country and hope to do well on this new circuit. I think we have to expect the unexpected at this round. Considering that the circuit is right by the dessert, the track can be slippery. However, I will not hold back and will do my best to satisfy my fans and my team with an excellent performance.”
