BEN Autologic Championship final

Daytona in Milton Keynes is set as the venue for the BEN Autologic Karting Championships Final (kindly sponsored by Autologic). Taking place on Sunday 10 October, it promises to be an exciting, action-packed occasion, as 25 teams will battle it out over the course of a two hour endurance race for the honour of being crowned champions. The event has been organised to raise funds for BEN - Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent fund by BENergy, a newly formed youth volunteer committee. The group's principle aim is to raise awareness and funds amongst the younger individuals employed in the industries who may not be familiar with the work of the Fund.

The lucky winners will walk away with first prize - an M3 Driving Experience Day for each member of the team, which have been kindly donated by BMW (GB) Ltd. In addition there will be other prizes on offer for titles such as fastest lap.

Additional entertainment will be available throughout the day for all the participants and spectators including race tin remote controlled cars, PlayStation games, raffle and merchandise stand. Refreshments will also be available for purchase.

Due to the success of this year's tournament BENergy will be repeating the event in 2005. Once again there will be a series of regional heats culminating in the final. 2005 also sees BEN celebrate its centenary and as this will be BENergy's main event during the year, plans to make it even more spectacular. So, if you are interested in entering a team for next year, please contact Loretta Eggleton or Kelly Neal on 01344 620191 or visit www.ben-karting.co.uk.

At the present time the BENergy committee is predominantly made up of representatives of many of the motor manufacturers in the UK. To obtain as wide a forum as possible, there are still some vacancies on the committee for representatives from other sectors.  So if there is anyone from the commercial vehicle, motorcycle, component, tyre, lubricant, aftermarket, finance or any other allied trade area who is interested in joining, please contact Loretta Eggleton on 01344 620191.

BEN is the motor and allied trades benevolent fund. Founded in 1905 it provides practical help, support, advice and friendship to more than 15,750 men and women and their families in their own homes every year. The Fund also provides a home to over 350 people, who live in one of the Fund's four nursing and residential centres throughout the UK.
