Flip Golding makes co-driving return

Armajaro MSA British Historic Rally Championship

Flip Golding returned to co-driving after around 20 years out of competition to partner Francis Tuthill on the Trackrod Historic Cup on Saturday (2 October). Despite spending several minutes in a ditch on the final stage, they finished sixth in category 1 of the Armajaro MSA British Historic Rally Championship.Golding, who's late husband Charles was BHRC champion in 2002, co-drove for Tuthill in the 1980s and they finished 12th and first privateers on the 1981 RAC Rally. "I talked her into it," joked Tuthill of Golding's comeback. Aside from putting the Porsche 911 into a ditch in Gale Rigg – on the co-driver's side – they had a good run together. "We went in just a bit too keen; a bit of over-exuberance," admitted Tuthill of the last stage incident that dropped them from third to sixth in the category.
