MSA British Hill Climb Championship preview

Rounds 19-20: Bouley Bay Hillclimb, 14 July

Rounds 21-22: Val des Terres Hillclimb, 16 July

The championship sails across the English Channel to positively tropical Jersey and Guernsey for rounds 13 and 14 where the competition takes place on public roads.

After the last round five-times champion Scott Moran won two rounds and leads the series by 18 points from 2012 champion Trevor Willis who also won two rounds.

Jersey’s Bouley Bay Hillclimb is the steep and twisting Charrieres du Boulay road from Trinity village down to Bouley Bay itself, with the start almost on the tiny wharf. Starts at 10:00, admission is £4.00 for adults, children are free.

The Monte Carlo of British MotorSport, Guernsey’s Val des Terres Hillclimb is the road from Havelet Bay on the southern edge of St Peter Port (known locally as ‘Town’) past Terres House up to Fort Road, Fort George. Starts at 09:30, admission is free - donations are requested for a programme – this is the cheapest MSA Championship motorsport event in the country! Note: ThA
