KCMG returns to Buriram for second Audi R8 LMS Cup event

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is set for Audi R8 LMS Cup’s second event following a successful debut at Shanghai International Circuit in May. The forthcoming event, which is held as part of Buriram Super Race 2016, will witness top Asian teams vie for glory at Chang International Circuit from July 22 – 24.

2015 Japanese Formula 3 National class champion Ryo Ogawa will join Polish ace Jan Kisiel in the Hong Kong-based squad’s two-car effort in Thailand. The Japanese pilot’s debut in Audi’s Asian sprint race series is another breakthrough in his promising career in GT3 racing. It is worth mentioning that Ogawa finished 7thth place in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia’s invitational race during the 2013 Macau Grand Prix.

Ryo Ogawa: “I’m delighted to represent KCMG in the Audi R8 LMS Cup at Buriram. It’s definitely an amazing opportunity for me and it’s always been a great pleasure to discover new tracks and race new cars. I’d like to thank Paul Ip and KCMG’s Head of Motorsport Ryuji Doi for their trust and support. It will be a thrilling new challenge for me and my objective is to deliver positive results for the team.”

Apart from running the #20 and #48 entries, KCMG will continue to provide exemplary services to the #18 Champion Racing Team car of 2015 Formula Masters Champion Martin Rump. Track action starts with Free Practice sessions on Friday, while Qualifying and Super Pole will take place the following day. Audi R8 LMS Cup’s first race will be held on Saturday afternoon at 16:00 local while the second 17-lap challenge will be held on Sunday morning at 11:35 local.
