Round 9: Maximum Attack Autotest, 23 July

Chris Chapman took victory in Dumfries as the British and Northern Irish championship contenders met for the first time this year.

Malcolm Livingston took the initial lead on test one, but surrendered to Chapman at the end of the first lap of three tests. Alastair Moffatt collected a penalty on the first test and spent the rest of the day catching up.

The Irish Challenge was led by the Mini Specials of Paul Mooney and Steven Ferguson, but penalties made their challenge difficult to maintain.

The six afternoon tests saw Chapman swapping the lead with Mooney until Mooney’s maximum penalty dropped him to second place. Moffatt took third place from Livingston and King, all three finishing on the same second.
