Joe Collier's Thruxton‏ Supersport review

Joe Collier on the JJR One Call Triumph worked hard over the weekend at round six of the Dickies British Supersport Championship at Thurxton and secured 15th place in the Sprint race and was 13th in the main race on Sunday. It has been a tough season so far for Joe and the team have to start from scratch at each round with data on the Triumph. Thruxton is a very fast circuit and Joe was struggling to get the set-up right to suit him, the team were making many changes through the weekend. He struggled during qualifying and he had to start from a low 23rd place.Joe was determined to try and fight for a result and after a steady start he was able to take advantage of the slip stream effect here at Thruxton. He slowly worked his way through the fierce pack and was able to get a single Championship point in 15th after the 12-lap race. For race two he was promoted up the grid for race two but only to 20th place. He had a steady start and made up some places on lap one. The harder Joe was pushing the more he was struggling with grip on the very abrasive circuit. He kept his head down and kept working hard to fight his way up through the pack, he eventually managed to finish the race in a solid 13th position.Joe Collier - "It has certainly been a tricky start to the season but I feel we are starting to move forwards now. Thruxton is always a very hard track to master, not only because of the speed it produces but also the tarmac is very different to anywhere else we visit. You have to learn to preserve tyres but also not lose time on the pack in front of you.We are making steps in the right direction, the new TRW discs and pads are working mega and thanks to them for their support.Everyone worked hard this weekend and despite the low results I believe now we can push forwards, aim for top ten places and ideally podiums. I know I am capable of running up at the front and just need the chance to prove it now.We will continue to keep pushing forwards and I know Brands suits my style and also the Triumph so I am really looking forward to getting there and moving things to the next level.Thank you to all the sponsors for standing by me whilst we try and get it right. I hope to repay everyone with some stronger results soon."2016 Personal SponsorsMC Motors - One Call Insurance - KGN Pillinger - Gemini Control Systems - McCarroll Engineering - Silkolene - Daytona - Shoei - Spidi - Knox - Hamilton Glass - Shredz Fitness Centre - TRW
