Dean Dominates Barry Sheene Festival at Oliver's Mount‏

Yorkshireman, Dean Harrison dominated the Barry Sheene Road Race Festival held on the Oliver's Mount closed public roads course on the outskirts of Scarborough, round 15 of the Duke Road Race Rankings Series 2016.

Riding the Silicone Engineering Kawasaki's he started in eight races, taking the chequered flag in all, setting the fastest laps in six and improving on the lap record in two and claimed the prestigious Barry Sheene Trophy as the icing on the cake. Dean also added 560 points to his Duke Rankings tally to extend his lead over second placed Ivan Lintin to 626 points.

Unfortunately Ivan Lintin slipped off his Devitt RC Express Kawasaki sustaining a hand injury which resulted in him taking no further part in the meeting.

Dan Hegarty took his first race victory at 'The Mount' in the inaugural Bob

Smith Trophy Race, which had been held over from the April Spring Cup Road Races, advancing the Bingham rider 31 places in the table from 46th to 15th.

Whilst James Cowton took a brace of wins in the Supertwins races - moving the 2104 Rankings winner up to fifth position.

Highest mover of the two-day event was local rider and late entry Joe Thompson, who 12-days earlier had had an operation to pin and plate his ankle and promptly took a second and then won the second 250cc race and setting the fastest lap in both events. Joe jumps from 152nd to 40th a climb of 112 places!

Round 16, the Faugheen 50 Road Races held in Carrick-on-Suir Co. Tipperary also took place over the same weekend as the Barry Sheene Road Race Festival.
