Lister LMP to go hybrid

Team News

With time to consider and plan, we have decided to convert the LMP900 to a ‘hybrid’ – this will make the car eligible for Le Mans, the LMES and the ALMS until the end of 2006.  What does ‘hybrid’ mean – to put it simply, we take the existing chassis and change the bodywork to bring it in to line with the LMP1 aerodynamic regulations (from 2007 only LMP1 prototypes will be eligible for racing – but the LMP1 means a totally new chassis; and this takes time).

With the regulations severely restricting the performance of the LMP900 cars next year (smaller restrictors, more weight), we expect the hybrid to have improved performance – and the car will look completely different – reactions to the design are unanimous in the opinion that it will be a ‘better looking car’.
