The final two races of the season for the Michelin Porsche Open Series should bring two excellent grids to Donington Park over the weekend of 23/24 October. Races 16 and 17 of a busy season will wrap up the calendar. All year Richard Chamberlain has set a scorching pace in his 935 but at Spa earlier in the month he faced a mighty challenge from Peter Cook (911GT2). Their battle was a highlight of the weekend and Cook is aiming to return to the series this weekend for another attack on the all-conquering 935.Rupert Lewin's 996GT2R will lead the chase, while a gaggle of 911GT3 Cup cars will pack out class two. Craig Rapp, Henry Firman and Jason Young have set the recent pace and they will be joined by series newcomer Philip Tayson in an Trakshare-backed car.All sorts of people have won class three, including Gordon Mathew (944 Turbo) and Paul Howells (993RSR), while Alex Eacock and Tim Bevan have enjoyed some cracking battles in class four. It should be a fine end to another excellent season of racing from the Porsche Club GB.
