Pellegrino beats WS record in Valencia

After having crowned Heikki Kovalainen as the current 2004 Title Winner in Valencia, the World Series by Nissan Teams have been back to activity in this Circuit in search of future drivers.

For 2005, the World Series by Renault and its New Formula Renault V6 are ready to open a new space in the 3.000 c.c. Single-seater competition.

Matteo Pellegrino set the fastest lap in 1.23.443 in  the RC Motorsport car, beating the official Dallara Nissan lap record (Ricardo Zonta, 1.23.570). Pellegrino,  finished 4th in the last Season of the World Series Light.

Alvaro Parente was the second fastest driver (1.23.681) in his drive with the Carlin Motorsport car. Only one tenth of a second behind was Simon Abadie, third scratch in the Lights category, who was driving for Epsilon Euskadi.

The best track conditions appeared after the midday break and the drivers profited from the use of new tyres. Early in the morning, Damien Pasini was clocking the best times, but the morning session ended with Christian Montanari topping the list of times. Giorgio Mondini, the current Eurocup Formula Renault V6 Title Winner,  also participated in the test.

The World Series by Nissan is now close to an end.  -  the final meeting will take in Jerez (7 November)
