Stuart Jones, Bulldog Preview

The 2004 Peugeot 206 Super Cup reaches its finale in the heart of Wales with the last round, the Bulldog Rally on Saturday 23rd October. Welshman Stuart Jones will aim to finish the series as 2004 champion having dominated the series with an overall tally of fastest stage times out performing his rivals throughout the year as the fastest driver in the series.The Mick Jones Timbers Peugeot 206 driver will be pushing hard on the final round to take the title and whatever the result the Welshpool driver and his Wolverhampton co-driver, Richard Edwards have notched up 38 stage wins, half of the total stages completed in the Peugeot 206 Super Cup.Jones will start the Bulldog Rally encouraged with the fact he has led every rally since taking his first series win this year on the Swansea Bay, then winning the Mewla and also leading the Park Systems until retiring with mechanical damage."We have had a good run in the series with the two wins and leading the Park Systems, so we have the pace for the final round and what should be an exciting end to a good season. All we need is some extra luck to ensure we take our third win and the title."The 2004 season is drawing to an end and Jones is already looking forward to 2005 and looking at all the options available. At present nothing has been confirmed but the young Welshman is keen to progress in the sport."We have spoken with different people on our options for 2005 and the possibilities are looking really good."The Shrewsbury based rally will start from Newtown on Saturday morning with competitive stages in Sweet Lamb, Dyfi and Dyfnant before the finish in Shrewsbury.
