Max Power Winter Show

The country’s leading modified car magazine, Max Power, returns to Crail Raceway for the final time this year (Sunday 31st October), in the run up to the end of the season for Scotland’s drag strip.

Organisers have set up an interactive fire show for the crowds, performed by the 10,000 hp, jet powered, saloon bodied car, Fireforce, which can deliver blistering speeds of over 270mph, joined by the Dutch jet quad, Pyromaniac, with the ability to accelerate to 60 mph in just one second

The Max Power events are the busiest of the season and the large crowds expected to turn up on the day will be treated to a seasonal extra, with a specially constructed Crail Raceway bonfire.  Helping to raise the temperature for spectators, the jet-powered machines will ignite the bonfire as part of a breathtaking pyro display.

The Fifteen lucky winners of the Show and Shine competition – judged by Max Power - will receive tickets for ‘Max Power London’, which hits Docklands Exel Arena later this month, on November 27th and 28th.

Meanwhile, the organisers are on the look out for willing participants to take on the Max team at Car Sumo, which will take place in front of the marquee after at 12.30pm.   Engine destruction will follow.

For those visiting the event for the first time, participants can take part in two disciplines - the 'Run What You Brung' action on the ¼ mile drag strip that takes place on the mile long runways of the 350 acre, WW2 air base and the new drift/sprint track, where drivers are required to complete a circuit followed by a figure of eight round the extended drifting oval.

A popular addition to the day’s line up of events is Crail Raceway’s special stunt artic unit, which will be performing ‘burn outs’ and ‘doughnuts’ climaxing in the ultimate  ‘blow out’.

The only requirement to take part at Crail is a valid UK driving licence and a £15 signing-on fee, which entitles participants to unlimited runs and the new drift/sprint track. At the end of the day personal performance print-outs showing reaction times to the start lights, 60', 1/4 mile times, and top speed will be given out – personal times can also be easily accessed through crailraceway.co.uk

Gates open at 9am. £10.00 per adult, under 16’s  £5.00. The1/4-mile and the drift/sprint track open at 9.30am till 5pm.  Gates shut at 7pm.
