Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus' Macchinadue finishes first in class at VLN10

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) has completed the last race in the VLN Championship at the legendary Nurburgring finishing first in class and seventh overall.

SCG fielded one car, Macchinadue (702), driven by Felipe Laser and Thomas Mutsch, both from Germany. It was a very positive weekend for the team, which started the four-hour race from ninth on the grid in wet conditions with Felipe behind the wheel.

As the track became drier throughout the race the tyre strategy worked well meaning that the team finished in seventh position overall and first in its class.

Over the last month SCG has been working on the suspension in particular. These developments paid off, as the SCG003C was very competitive against some of the best-known supercar manufacturers in the world. The team has also been working in close collaboration with tyre manufacturer Dunlop, which has helped to improve the performance of the car.

Felipe Laser said: “I’m really pleased with the result this weekend: the car felt great and you can tell that the team has been doing a lot of work behind the scenes. I’m looking forward to next year.”

Thomas Mutsch added: “The car was fantastic this weekend and it was amazing to once again race at the Nurburgring. The car felt great and the work the team is putting in is definitely paying off, the speed was incredible.”

Programme director Paolo Garella commented: “We are very happy with how the car has developed and improved so far this year. Now we have some work to do during the winter season to continue to improve the car ready for next year.”
