The Trofeo delle Industrie is the world’s most traditional karting event. In the eternal ranking of the best drivers at this event you can find names like Hamilton, Kvyat, Wittmann, Zanardi or Modena. Last weekend, the Trofeo showed once again impressive starting grids with a total of 212 top-class drivers from 17 countries all over the world. In the OK Junior class, the upcoming German youngster Niklas Krütten scored his best season result to date. With P5 overall, he won a trophy and registered himself in the eternal high scorer lists of the Trofeo.Due to school commitments, the 14-year old student from Trier started with some delay into the tournament and was not able to start with his free practices before Friday. After intense setup work, Niklas established a first strong reference with P3 overall in the qualifying practice on Saturday. On Sunday, he started into the Pre-Final from P7 and was able to fight himself up to P4 before seeing the chequered flag. In the final, he continued to carry himself through against the tough international competition and finished the event in the Top-5."The weekend went well“, said Niklas after the race. „I am proud to register myself in the trophy rankings of such a traditional race event. A big THANK YOU to my team Ricky Flynn Motorsport and everybody who is supporting me in my motorsports career. I feel well-prepared and very much look forward now to the World Championship in Bahrain in two weeks.”
