Donington to host new School for Motorsport Race Car and Bike Mechanics

This month (19th November) Donington Park will host the launch of the new MIA School of Race Mechanics. A unique educational offering, coming to the UK, partnered with the famous Motorsport Technical School (MTS) of Monza in Italy, teaching students the skills needed to secure a job as a mechanic in a professional racing team.The top five students from each course will receive a placement within a professional race team for the 2017 season, giving them a head start in their motorsport careers!Leading motorsport teams and suppliers are endorsing both of these schools and have provided partnerships to ensure we teach the relevant topics using the correct equipment. The MIA is delighted to welcome Official Partners Mobil 1 and WP Group who are supplying their Formula One engineer to teach the students about fuels and lubricants and providing a Super Car Experience as a prize for the top student.These 160 hour courses will welcome students over ten weekends for hands-on practical and classroom lessons, taught by leading teams within the industry including Ginetta Cars, Fortec, Hillspeed, Lifeline Fire & Safety Systems, M-Sport, Mobil 1, REAL, Rimstock, RML, Team Dynamics, West Surrey Racing and Xtrac are all involved throughout the race car mechanics course and Anvil Hire TAG Yamaha, Lloyd & Jones PR Racing, Team WD-40 Kawasaki and Royal Air Force BMW are on board for the race bike mechanics course.This one-of-a-kind opportunity is for students looking for a career as a motorsport mechanic.
