Cruisin' With The Monkey 2017 Caribbean Cruise With Gas Monkey Garage Crew

Richard Rawlings and 12 Gas Monkey Garage Cronies Onboard For Week-Long Caribbean Cruise, March 19 - 26, 2017, on Holland America's Nieuw Amsterdam

Taking a break from customizing cars, the crew of Gas Monkey Garage is going to be up to some serious cruise ship "Monkey" business this Spring, and fans can join them for the fun on the inaugural Cruisin' With The Monkey cruise through the Caribbean, March 19 – 26, 2017.

Twelve members of Richard Rawlings' Gas Monkey Garage cast of characters will be joining him and several prominent motorsports personalities on this week-long Caribbean adventure that sets sail March 19 from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, the day after the legendary 12 Hours of Sebring sports car race. Learn more at www.CruisinWithTheMonkey.com.

Cruisin' With The Monkey hits several tropical Ports of Call, including Half Moon Cay, the Cayman Islands, Cozumel and Key West, throughout the week-long cruise aboard Holland America's signature class cruise ship, the Nieuw Amsterdam.

Among the Gas Monkey Garage notables joining Rawlings are Dennis Collins, Christie Brimberry and Daphne Kaminski. Passengers will be able to get to know the diverse personalities of the Gas Monkey team and maybe pick up a bit of inside information or two on how Brimberry manages a shop full of Monkeys, asking Kaminski what it's like to be Rawlings' sister and discussing racing with Collins, who set the New York-to-Los-Angeles Gumball record with Rawlings.

Other Gas Monkey regulars that have booked their passage include Tony Taylor, Jason Aker, Jeremy Webster, Jeremy Cheatham, Charles "Sleeves" Cimino, Mike Coy, Tony Cano, Jonathan Mansour and Chris Montavon.

There is no end to the high-speed topics of discussion with this bunch. Taylor heads up buying and selling cars for Gas Monkey Garage on eBay and the Internet, Aker became a permanent Monkey after being brought in for a project to restore Firebirds, Webster is a master fabricator and Cheatham is a young grandpa who says he's anxious to show off "my grandpa bod."

Cimino, who seems to have an aversion to shirts with sleeves, should be right at home on the high-seas while painter and fabricator Coy is hot to re-enact the famous scene from the movie Titanic although "minus that glacier business." Converted Californian Cano will bring some Golden State cool to the cruise while parts manager Mansour has no plans to improve his potential tanning area by trimming his signature long beard. Guests shouldn't count on Montavon, Rawlings' personal driver, to wear his signature tuxedo t-shirt on the cruise but, then again, you never know.

The Gas Monkey Garage baker's dozen are just part of the featured guests on Cruisin' With The Monkey. They are being joined by several top drivers and team owners from both sports car racing and drag racing.

The sports car drivers include Americans “Big Texas” Ben Keating and “Pure Michigan” Marc Miller, top Dutch talent Jeroen Bleekemolen, Belgian hot shoe Marc Goossens, Danish driver and newly crowned 2016 IMSA GT Daytona Champion Christina Nielsen and England’s leading lady of motor racing, Katherine Legge. The quarter-mile contingent will be represented by Pro Stock driver Alex Laughlin, another Texas racer who drives the Gas Monkey Garage Camaro in one of the NHRA’s most competitive classes. Accomplished designer, constructor, engineering and all around racing big brain Bill Riley is another winning member of the motorsports guest lineup for Cruisin' With The Monkey.
