Repsol extends with Honda Moto GP team

Spanish energy company Repsol has renewed as title sponsor of the Honda MotoGP team for a further two years.

Under the terms of the partnership, which is one of the longest in motorsport, the Madrid-based company’s branding will be visible on the team’s race-day livery and on their riders’ leathers.

The financial terms of the deal, which runs until the end of 2018, were not released.

The partnership, which started in 1995, is the most successful in MotoGP history and has yielded 12 rider world championships and 151 race wins in motorcycling’s premier class. Spain's triple world champion Marc Marquez, winner of this year's title, and team mate Dani Pedrosa have two more years on their contracts.
