Kevin Joerg signs with Trident for GP3

Trident has announce that 21-year-old Swissman Kevin Joerg will be driving the team's #9 car for the 2017 GP3 Series season. Joerg will be at his second straight season in the series and is coming from a remarkable performance over the final stint of 2016, with a fourth place secured at Yas Marina. His debut dates back to the 2015 postseason, when he drove for Trident at Abu Dhabi in a valuable test session. The great feedback and memories from that test proved key for the completion of the agreement.Joerg made his single seater debut at the end of a brilliant karting career in 2011, entering the Formula BMW and Formula Abarth championships. In the following seasons, he drove in Formula Renault, where he collected several wins and a third place in the 2015 Eurocup. The same year, he also brought home second place in the Formula Renault North European Countries series.Giacomo Ricci – Team Manager :“We are proud and delighted to field Swissman Kevin Joerg in the upcoming GP3 Series season. We had the chance to see him in action in 2015 in a collective postseason test at Yas Marina and we were quite impressed. He convinced me for his raw speed and for his ability to adapt. Back then, he stayed at the front end of the charts in every session. Kevin is definitely a great prospect and I'm sure that we will be doing a good job together this season. We are really motivated and looking forward to work with him. We are sure we have secured one of the quickest guns on the market!”Kevin Joerg, Team Trident, Car #9 :“I'm extremely satisfied to announce that I will enter the upcoming GP3 Series season with the Trident team. Working together with the Milan-based squad, the goal is to stay among the frontrunners and collect several podium finishes. I'm absolutely confident that Trident will provide me with all what it takes to reach all the goals I have set for myself. I can't wait to get back on-track with my new team!”
