Coventry MotoFest speeds into 2017 with prestigious MIPAA award

Family-friendly Midlands festival applauded for pioneering visionMIPAA award acknowledges celebration of ‘city’s heritage and enthusiasm’Preparations well underway for biggest and best MotoFest yet in 2017Preparations for the 2017 edition of Coventry MotoFest (3-4 June) have revved into life in spectacular fashion, with the hugely popular event being presented with the Motor Industry Public Affairs Association (MIPAA) Chairman’s Award.Now in its fourth year, Coventry MotoFest has consistently grown in stature, firmly establishing itself as a not-to-be-missed staple on the annual calendar with its unique, family-friendly mix of high-octane motor sport demonstrations, static car displays and live music amid myriad other Coventry and transport-related activities.The event’s success has now been recognised with the receipt of the Motor Industry Public Affairs Association (MIPAA) Chairman’s Award, which is presented annually for an outstanding contribution to motor industry public relations.“Coventry MotoFest is a successful grassroots event that has grown and become established in the motoring calendar in just three years,” said MIPAA Chairman, Tom Callow. “In particular, MIPAA would like to recognise and applaud the vision of the event in enabling the citizens of Coventry – and much wider afield – to come together to celebrate the city’s heritage and enthusiasm for all things transport and motoring-related with an exciting and fun local initiative.”Previous winners of the coveted accolade include the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival, radio and TV personality Chris Evans, James Hunt movie ‘Rush’, former ‘Top Gear’ host Jeremy Clarkson, the James Bond film franchise, radio DJ Johnnie Walker and the British Armed Forces’ motor sport charity, Mission Motorsport.The prestigious industry award was received by Coventry MotoFest Festival Director, James Noble, who was quick to praise both the team behind the burgeoning event and the citizens of Coventry for so wholeheartedly embracing its broad appeal.He said: “This award is a recognition of all the hard work, passion and energy that everybody involved in Coventry MotoFest invests so selflessly into this event. This is your award as much as ours.“It has been immensely rewarding to witness the growth of Coventry MotoFest over the past three years, with more than 100,000 people joining in the fun last summer.
