NEIL Machin has been re-appointed as a co-promoter at Leicester under the club’s new ownership of Damien Bates.
Machin, who ironically sold Championship club Sheffield to Bates after over two decades in charge at Owlerton, will once again team up with Dave Darcy as Lions co-promoters.
He said: “I am looking forward to re-engaging with the Leicester Speedway folk. You could say that I personally feel a sense of unfinished business.
“This is a new era for the Leicester Lions and the new owners bring a fresh and youthful overview to the business.
“Having worked closely with them for the last three years, I believe that their energy and enthusiasm will add to the package of entertainment at Leicester this year and I look forward to again being part of a success story.”

JAMES Sarjeant is hoping his Ben Fund Bonanza appearance at former club Glasgow helps put him in the shop window for a team place this season.
Sarjeant has been left on the sidelines after parent club Coventry were withdrawn from the SGB Premiership, but will still be racing in the fund-raising event at Ashfield on March 12.
He said: “I met a lot of good people up there so it will be nice to see some old friends and management. I’ve still got a few sponsors up there. I can’t wait for it really.
“I’ll keep practising and keep my head up. I found out about Coventry when Mick (Horton) texted me but it was pretty much the same time as it got released. I don’t know the full story so it’s not for me to say any more.
“Obviously I’m disappointed but there are six other riders who will say the same. It’s worse for me because I have not got a team at all. You’ve just got to keep going haven’t you?”

KURTZ brothers Brady and Todd have been added to the line-up for Simon Lambert’s Testimonial meeting at King’s Lynn on March 26.
Lambert now has just three riders to be named to complete the field, which is headlined by Grand Prix ace Niels-Kristian Iversen and fellow national champions Danny King and Sam Masters.
Lambert said: “Todd texted me saying he was keen to do my meeting. I took him up on his offer, and then asked Brady as well, and was delighted when he also said yes.
“There are very few brothers riding in Speedway, so I’m really looking forward to having them on board on the 26th.
“I rode a bit with Brady when he guested at Peterborough as a No.1 the year before last, and I’ve known Todd a long time because he originally came through the National League with the Newport Mavericks.”

PETER Karlsson has confirmed two of his former team-mates will appear in his Farewell meeting at Wolverhampton on March 19.
Karlsson rode with current Poole skipper Hans Andersen at Belle Vue in 2010, whilst Nicolai Klindt was a title-winner alongside the Swede with Wolves in the previous season.
Karlsson said: “I'm so happy to have these guys as a part of the main meeting and they'll both add some extra quality to what is already a very good line-up.
“Me and Nicolai have had some good heats together, especially during that special season with Wolves in '09, and he can be very good around Monmore.
“Hans has been a team-mate of mine in both England and Sweden and while he can be a hard rider at times, I've never had too many problems with him.”
