Double Ducati Performance Tri Options Cup race victory for Joe Collier

Joe Collier has had an extremely long break since he was last out on track at Oulton Park back in May. He came back to Snetterton still on good form in the Ducati Performance Tri Options Cup on the BPS Racing Ducati. He secured the double race victory once again and extends his lead in the Championship to 18.5 points.

Joe was able to make the test at Snetterton in June so he was able to find a base setting on the Ducati for the race weekend. He was once again dominant and took a strong pole position for the opening race on Saturday. He got a great start and extended his lead on each lap, to take the eventual win by 2.2 seconds from his nearest rival Rob Guiver.

He started race two on pole position again but this time the battle was much closer. He got away at the start and was second in the opening five laps and made a pass for the lead on Rob Guiver just as the race was red flagged, the race was called and Joe took the win by only 0.05 from Guiver.

Joe Collier - "Free Practice one was ok, except not getting much of a fast lap due to traffic. During the first qualifying session we tried new gearing to help with corner exit speed, having so many riders to pass made it hard to put in a fast flowing lap. I reverted back to old gearing for race one knowing there would be less riders on track and bike worked really well!

In race two I had to bleed up the clutch so it took a couple laps to get used to it but eventually I felt I could pass Rob. I felt I had more pace in me so I decided to push on. The decision to pass Rob when I did turned out very lucky, as it was red flagged on the next lap!

All-in-all I am very happy with the teams' efforts and looking forward to Brands Hatch GP."
