Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe heads to Spa Francorchamps

July 27-29 the Huracán Super Trofeos will return on the challenging Belgian track
In the PRO class, Cecotto and Postiglione will aim at defending their primacy with Imperiale Racing
The round will take place on the same race weekend as the famous 24 Hours of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, with nine Huracán GT3s fielded on track

The fourth of the six rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe will be held in the fascinating context of the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, which is taking place the same weekend.

After scoring three wins, two  in England and one in the more recent round held in France, the leader of the PRO standings is the Italian-Venezuelan line-up of Imperiale Racing formed by the experienced Vito Postiglione and the seventeen-year-old Jonathan Cecotto, the latter has recently joined the Young Drivers Program of Lamborghini Squadra Corse and has been a real revelation during the first part of the season. Only nine points behind them is the duo of GDL Racing made up by Rik Breukers and Axcil Jefferies, champions of the 2017 Middle East series, who will aim at replicating the success achieved during the opening round at Monza. Five points back are the drivers of VS Racing, Raphael Abbate and Yuki Nemoto, who have been particularly constant but are still looking for their first victory. Behind them and 16 points from the top of the standings are Mikaël Grenier and Loris Spinelli, who scored their second win with the team Antonelli Motorsport in Le Castellet, one month ago.

In the PRO-AM, the other Italian driver, Kikko Galbiati (age 18), is currently leading the standings and is going to race again with Davide Roda, with whom he won Race 2 at Paul Ricard, thus scoring his second success of the season with the team Antonelli Motorsport. This round is going to offer a great challenge also thanks to the young duo of VS Racing formed by the German Christopher Dreyspring and the Chinese Liang Jiatong, who broke the ice by achieving their first success in France and are now 8 points from the top position. But watch out also for the drivers of Artline Team Georgia, Shota Abkhazava and Kelvin Snoeks, who are 10 points behind the previously mentioned duo.

In the AM, the two Poles of VS Racing, Andrej Lewandowski and Teodor Myszkowski, are still leading the standings thanks to four victories scored in six races. In Belgium, Raffaele Giannoni (Automobile Tricolore) will certainly do everything possible to regain ground on his rivals, after celebrating enthusiastically his second victory obtained in France.

Even if the Dutchman Gerard Van der Horst arrives in Spa as the leader of the Lamborghini Cup, followed closely by only 12 points by his teammate, William Van Deyzen (Van der Horst Motorsport), it should be pointed out that this category has so far recorded the highest turnover of winners, with five different drivers scoring a win; among whom are also the returning Andrés Josephsohn (GDL Racing) and Antonios Vossos (Target Racing).

The 24 Hours of Spa , the pinnacle of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup championship, will see on grid nine Lamborghini Huracán GT3s fielded by six customer teams. The #63 Huracán of Grasser Racing team, with Lamborghini Factory Driver Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli and Christian Engelhart behind the wheel, currently leads the championship.
