Nissan will be in the spotlight as the featured marque of the 41st HSR Classic Motorsports Mitty presented by Hagerty but a jam-packed schedule of Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) sprint, enduro and feature races will once again be at the foundation of the blockbuster weekend of historic and vintage auto racing at Road Atlanta, April 26 - 29.

The HSR Classic Motorsports Mitty schedule has a full 10 feature races - including three B.R.M. Chronographes Enduro Challenges, a pair of SascoSports International/American Challenge sprints and a Saturday Nissan/Datsun Feature Race - that will keep the weekend moving at a fast and furious pace right from the start of official competition on Friday morning.

The one-hour B.R.M. Enduro Challenge races each showcase a specific and period-matching group of race cars, including Friday afternoon's GT Classic (GTC) race at 5:05 p.m. EDT and Sunday events for Vintage-class race cars at 8 a.m. EDT and GT Modern (GTM) and Historic Prototypes at 12:50 p.m. EDT.

This year's strong entry for The Mitty will see the SascoSports International/American Challenge split into two events. Race A, for larger displacement Group 5 machines, kicks-off the weekend's racing schedule Friday at 4:40 p.m. EDT. Race B, for the small-bore machines of Groups 2 and 3, is the first race on Saturday's schedule at 11:45 a.m. EDT.

The Nissan/Datsun Feature Race could see a field of more than 50 of the brand's iconic race cars from the last 50 years take to the 2.54-mile Road Atlanta circuit when the green flag waves Saturday at 1:10 p.m. EDT.

The Mitty also hosts the season-opening rounds of the popular HSR Global GT and HSR Classic RS Cup racing series, which will share the track in a dual-feature race Saturday at 5:45 p.m. EDT.

Global GT is home to a variety of contemporary but recently retired GT racing machines while the Classic RS Cup rekindles the thrill of the original 1970's International Race of Champions (IROC) Porsche series, featuring only Porsche 911 Carrera RS/RSR/IROC and closely related models from that era.

Vintage single-seat race cars will also be celebrated at The Mitty this year with a pair of Formula Junior Feature Races scheduled for Saturday at 1:35 p.m. EDT and Sunday at 12:15 p.m. EDT. A true showcase class, Formula Junior entries from some of the earliest years of the small-displacement open-wheel category - 1959 through 1963 - are headed to The Mitty. The list includes rare and seldom seen race cars such as a 1959 Bandini, a 1962 Stanguellini Delfino, the home-built 1961 Dreossi Special and similar open-wheel offerings from this golden era from Cooper, Brabham, Lola and Lotus.

In addition to the ample schedule of Feature Races, The Mitty will be anchored by a full slate of WeatherTech Sprint races for all Groups in a Saturday/Sunday doubleheader format. The first round of WeatherTech Sprints is from 2 p.m. EDT through the last green flag at 5:20 p.m. EDT on Saturday. The Sunday WeatherTech rounds begin at 2:05 p.m. EDT and will bring the 41st HSR Classic Motorsports Mitty to a close with the final green flag of the weekend at 5:05 p.m. EDT.
