The reconnaissance team validate 2020 Africa Eco Race route

After Scrutineering in Menton on 3 and 4 January 2020, the vehicles will be placed in parc fermé, quai Antoine 1er in Monaco.

On the evening of January 4 competitors will departure under the stars of Monaco for the 12th edition of 
the AFRICA ECO RACE and then set sail Jan. 5, at 9:00 am from Savona, Italy and will dock in Tangier, on the morning of January 7. and take time to train on navigation devices such as GPS / ERTF, to attend a general briefing and respond to all questions of technical and sporting nature.

On disembarking competitors will travel nearly 4000 km through African landscapes to reach the Lac Rose finish on January 19, 2020.

This first short special through the forest from Tangier will be the opportunity to see the level of difficulty of the rally in terms of navigation before heading southeast for the first bivouac at Goulmima. A long first step to avoid the relatively low night temperatures in this season.

Then on to Mauritania where the course will pass Tidjikdja, a historic city on the Tagant Plateau, for 2 sandy stages with amazing views. The Mauritanian desert is both beautiful and demanding.  The course will then continue through Senegal to the Dakar finish
