This record-breaking participation marks a turning point: the 2026 edition already promises to be one of the most iconic in
HISTORIC Category
Who can beat the Claeys?
The HISTORIC category is experiencing real enthusiasm this year, with already more than 20 cars entered!
Designed for legendary vehicles, it is not based on pure speed but follows a regularity rally format.
The goal? Follow an imposed average speed on rally-raid tracks while respecting navigation.
But the big question on everyone’s lips: who can stop the Claeys’ (father and son), double reigning champions? The bets are on…
A Memorable Rally Story
2025, final stage: Jacopo Cerutti and Alessandro Botturi, two Italian rally-raid titans, battle for the final victory. Only 9 seconds separate them at the start of the last stage. The tension was palpable.
In the sand, the two men fought meter by meter on the grueling course. Cerutti crosses the finish line first… and starts counting the seconds. He knows everything could change in an instant.
Behind him, Botturi arrives… tangled in a net he dragged to the finish after a slight navigation error.
Verdict: Cerutti wins by just 26 seconds. A tiny gap after more than 6,000 kilometers of racing. One of the most thrilling duels in recent Africa Eco Race history!
