Porsche has enjoyed a strong season to date, taking five overall wins and multiple podiums across the Pro-Am, Silver-Am and Am categories.

The season started with a 1-2 finish at Sepang, as Origine Motorsport’s Yuan Bo and Leo Ye led home Anthony Liu and Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver Dorian Boccolacci for Phantom Global Racing. Porsche Center Okazaki’s Kiyoshi Uchiyama and Yuta Kamimura also picked up a Silver-Am podium, while Ben Porter secured an Am class victory for AMAC Motorsport. Origine continued to show excellent form in its title defence in Round 2, winning both races at the series’ maiden visit to Mandalika. Yuan and Ye extended their championship advantage on Saturday, before Lu Wei earned his first victory of the season alongside Alessio Picariello the following day. Kerong Li and Anders Fjordbach clinched second in the Silver-Am category for Origine Motorsport, as, in the team’s second season of competition, Han Min-Kwan and debutant Daan Arrow put in a strong showing for Vollgas Motorsport, taking third in the same class. A challenging weekend for Porsche entries in Thailand slowed down its superb start to the season, although Lu returned to the podium, this time with Bastian Buus his teammate. Uchiyama claimed his second Silver-Am podium of the campaign, this time alongside Tsubasa Kondo in the #25 car, while Macpherson and Porter made it six podiums from six races at the wheel of the #51 machine.

The championship then headed to Japan to kick off the second half of the season, and it was back to business for the #87 crew, taking first and second in an extremely strong weekend at Fuji Speedway. Lu and Picariello made it an Origine Motorsport 1-2 on Saturday as the Chinese driver brought himself back into the title picture. The team had further success in the Silver-Am class, as a superb performance from Li and Fjordbach earned them victory in Race 2. Lu continued his incredible form when alongside Buus, the #4 pairing took a win and a second place at Okayama, closing the gap at the top of the standings following Yuan and Ye’s podium in Race 1, which helped Origine Motorsport wrap up a third consecutive Teams’ Championship. The weekend also saw Phantom Global Racing’s Liu and Boccolacci also return to the podium, while Wang Zhongwei and Patrick Pilet put in an incredible drive for Absolute Racing to take third overall. The marque also clinched a double podium in the Silver-Am category, with Li and Fjordbach continuing their strong form to take second, ahead of Han and Arrow in third.

This action has led to an unpredictable title battle, with three Porsche crews holding realistic chances of taking the title. Yuan and Ye currently lead on 119 points, but only 14 ahead of the charging Lu. Meanwhile, Liu and Boccolacci sit in fourth, but they are just 20 points off top spot, so a good weekend could see them claim the title.

In the Pro-Am class, Zhongwei and Pilet will be looking to build on that podium last time out in the #911 car, while Brian Lee and Nico Menzel aim to keep up their strong form to end the season on a high. The #10 duo has scored Pro-Am points in six of the 10 rounds so far for GTO Racing Team.

The Silver category sees a championship debut for former Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Talent Pool driver Nazim Azman, who steps into the #321 Absolute Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, alongside former Carrera Cup Asia Champion Daniel Lu Wenlong.

In the Silver-Am class, Kerong Li and Anders Fjordbach have taken a victory and a second place in their last three outings, and currently sit inside the top-five in the standings for Origine Motorsport. Porsche Carrera Cup Asia veteran Li Chao joins Adderly Fong in the #13 Phantom Global Racing car for his season debut.

AMAC Motorsport’s #51 car has finished in the top-three at all but two races this year, as Andrew Macpherson and Ben Porter look to cap off their fifth season in GT World Challenge Asia strongly, with Porter running second in the GT3 Am Driver’s Championship.

The Beijing Street Circuit will be a great leveller for all teams this weekend, with the GT World Challenge Asia finale set to be the first event held there. The brand new 4.9-kilometre track features eight corners and is based in Beijing’s E-Town, South-East of the capital city.

Test sessions and Official Practice take place on Friday, ahead of Qualifying on Saturday at 12:20 local time (UTC+8). Race 1 is later that day at 16:15, while the season comes to a close the following day with Race 2 at 15:05.

Yuan Bo, Origine Motorsport: “It’s been another strong season for us in the #87 car and for the whole Origine Motorsport team. We’ll do our best to complete both races strongly and defend our title.”

Leo Ye, Origine Motorsport: “Last time out at Okayama wasn’t our best weekend, but we come to Beijing knowing what we are capable of. The track looks exciting and I know the team will give us the best opportunity possible to top the championship again.”

Lu Wei, Origine Motorsport: “Moving up to second in the standings was a great achievement for me. I’m aiming for more podiums this weekend and to complete the weekend smoothly to give myself a good chance of winning the title.”

Bastian Buus, Origine Motorsport: “I’m really looking forward to racing on the streets of Beijing in this special event. It’s a perfect challenge for an action-packed final round of the championship, and I’ll give it everything to help Wei and the team finish strongly.”

Kerong Li, Origine Motorsport: “2025 has been a year where I’ve learned a lot and developed as a driver. I’ve loved racing in GT World Challenge Asia and I’m sure the season finale will be a great show for all the fans.”

Anders Fjordbach, Origine Motorsport: “I can’t wait for the final weekend of the season and in particular to be racing on a street track. These are the kind of circuits that I love and hopefully Kerong and I can finish the year on a high.”

Dorian Boccolacci, Phantom Global Racing: “We know that we still have an opportunity to clinch the title heading into this weekend. It’ll be a new track for everyone so anything can happen throughout the event. It will be very important to adapt quickly between the sessions and to make sure we’re operating at our highest level of performance. We’ve taken four podiums during the campaign so we’re aiming to secure our first victory of the season in Beijing.”

Wang Zhongwei, Absolute Racing: “The Beijing Street Circuit is a track that combines both risk and opportunity. The key is to stay out of trouble throughout the event and not be overly aggressive.”

Patrick Pilet, Absolute Racing: “It’s always nice to discover a new track, especially a street circuit. Everyone is starting from zero which is an aspect of racing that I really enjoy. The weather forecast looks like we may see rain at some point which would definitely make it interesting. We’re aiming to finish the season on a high and I’m sure that there’ll be plenty of action on-track!”

Nazim Azman, Absolute Racing: “I’m excited to be racing in GT World Challenge Asia for the first time with Absolute Racing. Beijing will be a new track for everyone so I’m hoping for a positive weekend ahead!”

Daniel Lu Wenlong, Absolute Racing: “I’m really looking forward to the final round of the GT World Challenge Asia season at a brand-new circuit in Beijing. Competing in the Silver class, I’m confident that we can deliver a positive overall performance, as long as we avoid any issues, and a strong result in class.”

Brian Lee, GTO Racing Team: “I love street circuits and can’t wait to discover this one! Let’s keep the car on the road and do our best to take a positive result.”

Nico Menzel, GTO Racing Team: “I’m looking forward to being back on a street circuit and I’m excited to learn this new track. I’ve always enjoyed this style of track, so we’ll be aiming to finish the season on a high.”

Adderly Fong, Phantom Global Racing: “This season has gone by so quickly! The Beijing Street Circuit will be interesting as it’s a new track for everyone. I’m pleased to be joined by Li Chao this weekend and will push hard in the #13 Porsche 911 GT3 R.”

Andrew Macpherson, AMAC Motorsport: “Beijing here we come! It’s an exciting first street circuit for GT World Challenge Asia, and we’ll be looking to utilise our experience from these types of tracks in Australia to adapt quickly. The grid is smaller for this event, so there are lots of uncertainties, but we expect our Porsche to be well adapted to the layout and we’re excited to get out there for the last time this season.”

SRO GT Cup

SRO GT Cup also returns for the third round of its inaugural season, supporting GT World Challenge Asia in Beijing. The series, which is aimed at Bronze and Silver-rated drivers has enjoyed a successful debut campaign so far, supporting the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai before tackling Pingtan Ruyi Lake International City Circuit in June.

Moritz Berrenberg has enjoyed a strong season to date, taking two victories in Shanghai, and securing a pair of podium finishes in Pingtan. The German, who also found success China GT in 2025 by winning the GTS Championship, again pilots the Maxmore W&S Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport in the Am category.

Porsche also fields two further cars in the same class, with Lenny Tian Weiyuan looking to build on his points finish in Shanghai for RSR GT Racing, while Xie Weijun makes his series debut in the #007 610 Racing machine.

Moritz Berrenberg, Maxmore W&S Motorsport: “I’m really looking forward to racing on the streets of Beijing this weekend. These types of circuits are always challenging, and this will be a great opportunity for me to gain more experience before heading to Macau next month. Every lap in Beijing will be valuable preparation and my goal is to deliver strong results and secure podiums for Porsche.”

Lenny Tian Weiyuan, RSR GT Racing: “It’s my first time competing in a street race, which is very exciting. Nobody has raced here before, so it is a level playing field. Can’t wait to get started!”

Xie Weijun, 610 Racing: “It feels both familiar and exciting to compete at my home track in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. The narrow layout and complexity of the corners demand precision in every detail at a circuit like this. This will be my second time racing in this car and I’m feeling confident as I aim to give it my all this weekend.”

Autobacs Super GT Series

seven x seven Racing continues its debut season in Super GT this weekend, tackling Autopolis in the penultimate round of the campaign.

The squad has enjoyed a solid year, regularly finishing in the points in the GT300 category and picking up a maiden podium last time out at Sportsland SUGO after a superb performance. Tsubasa Kondo and Harry King will continue to pilot the #666 Porsche 911 GT3 R as they look to build on that third-place finish.

Autopolis has been a regular on the Super GT calendar since its first appearance in 1999. The twisty 4.673-kilometre circuit features 19 turns and challenges drivers’ concentration, with several corners in quick succession in the middle and final sectors. Overtaking is most likely on the long runs into Turns 1 and 3, while the back straight that leads to Turn 12 could also produce action.

Alexandre Gibot, Managing Director Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Ltd.: “It’s been a fantastic season for Porsche in GT World Challenge Asia, and to have three crews still within a realistic chance of taking the Drivers’ Championship shows how strong our entries have been in 2025. The Beijing Street Circuit is a relative unknown, but we’re expecting intense racing and some great battles up and down the field. We’re also delighted to have three Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport cars in SRO GT Cup supporting GT World Challenge Asia in Beijing as the series enters the second half of its debut campaign. We’ll be keeping an eye on Japan as well, with seven x seven Racing continuing their Super GT campaign, and the target is to keep the good momentum going.”
