“Seeing this cool E21 reminds me of my old E21 323i in White with Martini stripes and the wider steel wheels. It survived a trip to Le Mans on the limiter which was something like 135 mph more or less all the way. No car – hating Gendarmerie in those days – just good old fashioned animosity towards Les Rosbif which was overcome with an overt roadside cash bribe after one had been caught for a roadside offence ranging from speeding/doing wheelspins in Arnage and generally driving like an idiot.
The E21 ended up being written off at Christmas Pie below the Hogs Back outside Guildford later that year, when the vicious lift off oversteer resulted in driver running out of talent and car hitting a tree. The sunroof ended up in branches of tree above – driver had to be cut out by Fire brigade. Optional blue cloth Recaro seats with head rest saved drivers neck – so that after few days in hospital and quite a few weeks wearing a neck brace – I was ready for the next bolide to test to destruction. Seeing the now written off car in scrapyard post crash and the copious amounts of blood on drivers seat made me realise good seats/seat belt are the way forward.”

The BMW 320/6 E21 was launched in 1977, embodying the sporting spirit of the first 3 Series. Its 2-liter in-line 6-cylinder engine develops 122 hp, offering a smooth sound and balanced performance. The car's reputation as a sports car was well established, and BMW's banner of driving pleasure set itself apart from the competition.
The design by Paul Bracq's team blends angular lines with an emblematic double-bean grille. Inside, the driver-oriented cockpit announces the brand's dynamic DNA. Today, the E21 remains a sought-after icon for collectors. It combines Bavarian tradition and driving pleasure, with racy styling.
Originally from France, this 320/6 was registered on November 28, 1978 in the Aisne department under number 1281 RF 02. A previous owner living in the same département kept it from 1989 to 2016. A restoration project was then undertaken, but will be completed by the current owner, who takes possession in 2021.
Our BMW was restored between 2021 and 2025, with the body repainted in its original color, the engine replaced, the running gear restored and the mechanical assembly brought up to standard. Over €10,000 was invested in the restoration.
As for the interior, it remains in its original state. Elegant beige fabric upholstery, matching door panels and mottled grey carpeting. To complete its look, it has recently been fitted with 5 aluminum wheels, giving it a resolutely sporty look. With just over 140,000 km on the clock, our updated model is ready to take to the road for your family outings or historic rallies with friends.
