Trajectus Motorsport steps up a gear in 2026

Trajectus Motorsport steps up a gear in 2026

Following a successful 2025 season marked by victory in the French Rally Championship and an honourable runner-up finish in the Ligier European Series, Benoît Tréluyer’s team is setting its sights on new challenges. For its third year, no fewer than five championships are on the agenda.

To kick off its 2026 season, Trajectus Motorsport chose the Domaine de la Citadelle in Ménerbes (Vaucluse), just a stone’s throw from its headquarters. A vineyard to launch a 2026 season that promises to be exhilarating in more ways than one. Partners, drivers and the media made the trip to discover the French team’s 2026 programme, which features three brand-new championships.

FRENCH RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP

Firstly, Trajectus Motorsport will be defending its title in the French Rally Championship with the inseparable duo of Yoann Bonato and Benjamin Boulloud. However, the six-time French champions are swapping their Citroën C3 Rally2 for the brand-new Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale.

“The 2025 season will be one to remember, with our first French Rally Championship title,” says Benoît Tréluyer, founder and president of Trajectus Motorsport. “The quest for a seventh title for Yoann and Benjamin looks set to be a tough one, given the change of car. We are honoured to be part of Lancia’s return to rallying, in four-wheel drive, and we will strive to live up to the standards of this legendary marque, whilst continuing to fly the flag for our partners, without whom none of this would be possible.”

Just like last year, the team behind the three-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner will also be running the #CaVaTropVip initiative, which will once again give five celebrities the chance to experience rallying at the wheel of a Lancia Ypsilon FR6. The identity of the first participant will be revealed shortly.

Yoann Bonato: “Every year, we face new challenges, and the one awaiting us in 2026 will be to support the return of a brand as legendary as Lancia to rallying. New Italian colours, a new car in the form of the Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, and new rivals ready to do whatever it takes to beat us. The car shares certain similarities with the Citroën C3 Rally2, but it has also been extensively improved by Stellantis Motorsport. It’s up to us to get to grips with how it works as quickly as possible. Motivation is therefore at an all-time high and we can’t wait to be on the starting line at Le Touquet. And as with any new challenge, it’s important to be surrounded by the right people: we’ll therefore continue with our crack team, Trajectus Motorsport, Michelin Motorsport tyres of course, our pace cars and our loyal partners. We’ll be pursuing another project close to my heart: #CaVaTropVip – Season 2! Thanks to our partners – Stellantis Motorsport, IGOL, Michelin and the FFSA – we’ll be welcoming five new personalities over the course of the season to introduce them to our world behind the wheel of a Lancia Ypsilon FR6. And there may well be a few other surprises – with an Italian twist – to spice up our 2026 season even further.”

Mayeul Tyl, Director of Stellantis Racing Shop: “Our partnership with Yoann and Benjamin continues, much to our delight. Two years ago, they came to see me and explained why Trajectus Motorsport was the ideal team for us, despite being a fledgling outfit. It didn’t take them long to convince me, and subsequent events have proved them right. We will therefore set about continuing this momentum despite the major challenge that lies ahead: restoring Lancia’s former glory in rallying, a brand that holds a record ten world titles in WRC.”

LIGIER EUROPEAN SERIES

Ligier JS P4 No. 19 – Tomas Pompidou/Vincent Bouteiller

Ligier JS P4 No. 20 – Nickolas Ellis/Gabriel Doyle-Parfait

Ligier JS2 R No. 83 – Charles Lambert

Ligier JS2 R No. 84 – Jack Tabery/Martin Tabery

On the track, Trajectus Motorsport is embarking on a second campaign in the Ligier European Series, with two Ligier JS2 R and two Ligier JS P4 cars. A year to learn, a year to win? That is the goal stated quite plainly by Benoît Tréluyer’s team, which will also give up-and-coming young drivers a chance to gain experience in competitive racing.

“In JS2 R, we’re delighted to continue the adventure with the Tabery family, who showed great promise last year,” continues Tréluyer. “Coming from a karting background and joining us in 2025 as a trainee, Charles Lambert is making his motorsport debut, though that hasn’t stopped him from setting high goals right from the start.

“In JS P4, Nickolas Ellis and Gabriel Doyle-Parfait will form our first entirely English-speaking crew. They had the opportunity to drive for us last year and showed us the extent of their talent, with Nickolas notably winning at Le Mans. I am delighted that Gabriel is joining us in the Ligier European Series; he hails from Vaucluse in the South-East of France, the heartland of Trajectus Motorsport. Vincent Bouteiller, who has been with us since the very beginning, is staying on. He will be supported in his title bid by Tomas Pompidou, winner of the 2025 Junior Programme. The sort of driver I’d rather have on our side than against us.”

Vincent Bouteiller: “Having been here since the start of the adventure, I’ve seen the team grow and I’ve never considered continuing the adventure elsewhere. Today, Trajectus Motorsport is like a second family. We achieved great things last year and with Tomas (Pompidou) by my side, I think all the ingredients are in place for this season to be a success.”

MICHELIN LE MANS CUP

Ligier JS P325 No. 22 – Mathis Poulet / André Viera

In 2026, Trajectus Motorsport will climb another rung of the endurance racing ladder. Having moved from the Ligier JS Cup France to the Ligier European Series during the 2024–2025 off-season, the French team is now setting its sights on LMP3 machinery in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, the stepping stone to the European Le Mans Series.

“It’s a logical step forward,” explains Tréluyer. “And doing so with Mathis Poulet, whom we’re promoting from the Ligier European Series, allows us to highlight our commitment to developing our young talents to the highest level. This applies not only to our drivers, but also to our engineers and mechanics, as some of them will follow the same path.”

Mathis Poulet: “I’ve found in Trajectus Motorsport the perfect environment to climb the ranks and pursue my dreams of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. And being able to rely on Benoît Tréluyer’s expertise is, of course, invaluable. After competing in the Ligier European Series in a JS P4 last year, I’m delighted to be joining the team for its debut in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in LMP3, a category I discovered a few years ago. The first tests went well and André (Viera) has shown good potential. So I’m looking forward to being in Barcelona to see what we’re capable of achieving.”

GT3 REVIVAL SERIES

HISTORIC MONACO GRAND PRIX

Tyrrell 012 – Yannick Panagiotis

Trajectus Motorsport is also set to enter historic racing this year. An Audi R8 will compete under the name Spark Motorsport in the GT3 Revival Series. Spark Motorsport has also teamed up with Trajectus Motorsport to revive the legendary Tyrrell Racing team, which made headlines in F1 between 1968 and 1998. A Tyrrell 012-Ford will therefore be entered in the Monaco Historic Grand Prix (24–26 April).

“Initially, my ambition was to launch a historic racing team,” recalls Tréluyer. “But as my son Jules decided to embark on a career in motorsport, I changed tack. The idea never left me, however. My friendship with Hugues Ripert and the passion that unites us provides the perfect opportunity to do so this year. A wonderful story that will begin with a legendary event: Monaco, which we will share with Yannick Panagiotis, a key figure in the history of Trajectus Motorsport.”

The Monaco Historic Grand Prix is also set to mark the revival of the Trajectus Club, which offers its members high-quality road trips lasting from a few hours to several days. Scenic routes, evening events, special occasions and more. The first trip will set off from Gordes on 24 April, passing through the Gorges du Verdon, and will end in the Principality on 26 April, where participants will be able to watch the Monaco Historic Grand Prix in privileged conditions.

“The 2026 season kicked off in style at the Domaine de la Citadelle, where we were able to unveil our Ligier JS P325, Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale and Tyrrell 012,” concludes Tréluyer. “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made the trip for the occasion: partners, drivers, local businesses and friends. Some travelled across France and even across the Channel to be with us. That speaks volumes about the spirit within our team, and it is what drives us to work so hard every day to do them proud.”
