Second leg of the 1000 Miglia Experience Italy 2026 underway

The first day of the 1000 Miglia Experience Italy 2026 concluded with a picturesque finish in Polignano a Mare . The event got off to a flying start thanks to the warm welcome from the crowd in Bari, who gathered in the sun-drenched Largo Giannella to see off the 54 competing crews, driving a mix of classic cars and modern supercars.

The first leg covered a route of over 170 kilometres, immediately putting the drivers’ precision to the test on the kerbs of the Autodromo del Levante in Binetto and the Kartodromo 90 in Turi. In addition to the Time Trials, the first sector saw the debut of the Average Trials on the stretch between Sannicandro and Turi, before reaching Alberobello . The stop in the City of the Trulli offered participants a chance to immerse themselves in the heart of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, a prelude to the final leg on the Adriatic coast with a breathtaking aperitif amongst the cliffs of Lama Monachile .

At the start of the second leg, the standings saw the crew of Matteo Loiudice and Beatrice Mora leading in a 1954 Porsche 356 Pre A with 119 penalty points. In second place are Gianluigi and Federico Smussi in a 2004 MG TF, followed in third place by Fabio Vergamini and Maurizia Angela Bertolucci in a 2023 Ferrari SF90 Spider.

Today the convoy will set off from Polignano a Mare and head south. The second leg will conclude in the afternoon in Lecce where, after a tour of the historic centre, there will still be time for some competitive action: in the heart of the Baroque city, a one-on-one challenge will begin. The trial, which will not affect the overall Experience standings, will see the drivers compete directly for the coveted Salento Trophy .
