Variety & diversity at Classic SpeedFair

The organisers of the inaugural Classic SpeedFair at Knockhill Racing Circuit on 22/23 July 2006 have promised one of the most varied and diverse events ever to be held at the Fife circuit, with attractions to suit all tastes.

As well as the classic racing programme and feature displays, a host of other classic and period machinery will be on show and in action on the track as the event offers a degree of interactivity seldom found at major events of this nature.

Many marque clubs – on both two and four wheels - have already confirmed their participation with displays and gatherings, and track parades will be an important part of the schedule. Meanwhile, the Scottish Bus Museum will have a parade and around 30 classic working trucks and lorries will be on show. Period military and agricultural vehicles and classic motorbikes will add to the tremendous variety.

In the air above the track will be more star attractions, topped by a demonstration from a glorious Spitfire. Back on the ground, a Merlin engine and a Whittle jet engine will be run up to add to the spectacle!

Then, to round off a memorable day, the circuit will be opened up for a mass track parade. Any vehicle capable of moving under its own power will be invited onto the circuit in an attempt to grid-lock the entire 1.3-mile track. Any spectators in a vehicle of at least 30 years old will be able to join in what promises to be a spectacular – and very noisy - send-off for the inaugural Classic SpeedFair.
