Knockhill launches Classic SpeedFair

One of the most significant launches at the 3rd International Historic Motorsport Show over the weekend (25/26 February) was the Classic SpeedFair, which is set to become a major celebration of historic motorsport and sporting heritage at Knockhill circuit in Scotland.

To run on Sunday 23 July, the Classic SpeedFair has been created to grow into an annual celebration of motorsport history, with as diverse range of on-and off-track activities to excite and entertain the whole family.

Historic racing festivals such as those at Goodwood, Silverstone and Oulton Park have all grown into must-do events in the motorsport calendar. Now, the Classic SpeedFair will offer enthusiasts the chance to see some of the leading classic cars and drivers in action but with a Scottish theme.

But this event has been created to be much more than simply a classic race meeting. The whole of the extensive Knockhill venue will be used to host a glorious array of displays, demonstrations and activities to really involve visitors, no matter what their particular interest.

"Knockhill's Classic SpeedFair is a brand new annual event celebrating and demonstrating in an interactive, live-action format, all that is wonderful about historic motorsport," says event creator Stuart Gray from Knockhill Racing Circuit.

Each year, the mid-summer event will celebrate major sporting achievements by leading Scottish teams and drivers on two, three and four wheels.

Marque clubs, military vehicles, commercial vehicles and airborne displays will all feature in an event that is being designed to cater for 'grandfathers to grandsons'!
