Ecurie Ecosse cars line up ..

For Classic SpeedFair A remarkable display of cars from the history of Scotland's most famous racing team has been lined up for the inaugural Classic SpeedFair at Knockhill this Sunday (23 July).To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the team's famous victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours, at least nine former Ecurie Ecosse cars will be on show at Knockhill as well as taking part in parade laps during the day.The 1956 victory in the classic endurance race came with Ron Flockhart (Edinburgh) and Ninian Sanderson (Glasgow) at the wheel of the team's Jaguar D Type. That car will have pride of place in the Knockhill display, which is thought to be one of the largest gatherings ever staged of ex-Ecurie Ecosse cars.As well as the Jaguar D Type, also on show will be a Jaguar C Type, a Tojeiro Jaguar, a Cooper Bristol single-seater, two Jaguar XK120s, an Ecosse Imp single-seater and two Group C2 cars from the 1980s.Also on hand will be team boss Hugh McCaig, Jackie Stewart and his brother Jimmy, as the history of a significant part of Scottish motor racing history is celebrated.For more information about the Classic SpeedFair, please visit knockhill.co.uk
