The Worlds Oldest Motor Sport venue since 1905, run by the Midland Automobile Club, established January 1901.
The first meeting of the 2007 Shelsley Walsh season kicks off this weekend with two one day meetings on a freshly laid new tarmac surface that is sure to give some very competitive and closely contested motor sport. Saturday and Sunday May 12th and 13th is the first weekend of six in the Teme Valley this summer, the high point of which will be the 60th anniversary of the British Speed Hill Climb Championship in August.
Old and modern Minis, Westfields and Audi Quattros are just some of the road going cars battling up the 1000 yard hill this weekend, but the focus of the running on Saturday will be with the Morgans, Reliants, Austin Healeys and a massive Porsche class hosting no less than 28 cars.
With the single seater racing cars from 600cc to 5 litres having their first runs up the smooth tarmac, expect some close running for the Best Time of Day. It is a prize that all drivers want to win at the World Famous Shelsley Walsh.
Practice starts at 09.30hrs, while the all important timed runs start at 14.00hrs on both days
Entrance for spectators is £12 each day including free parking, entrance to the paddock to see the cars close up, and seating on the hill.
Shelsley Walsh is on a minor road between Martley and Stanford Bridge in the Teme Valley, Worcestershire, eleven miles North West of Worcester. RAC sign posts will be in place.
