Penfolds relives the glory days

at Goodwood Revival

PENFOLDS wine has teamed up with the Goodwood Revival for the fifth consecutive year to offer visitors to the historic motor racing event an opportunity to relive the romantic era of the 1950’s and 60’s between Friday 31st August and Sunday 2nd September 2007.

As well as being a golden age for British motor sport, the 1950’s and 60’s proved a highly innovative period for Penfolds. The 1950’s saw the development of Penfolds Grange, one of the new world’s most iconic wines, whilst the impressive Bin wines came out of the 60’s and led to the launch of Koonunga Hill in the 70’s. Renowned for delivering outstanding value for money, Koonunga Hill wines also deliver good mid-term cellaring.

The Goodwood Revival relives the glory days of Goodwood Motor Circuit, the spiritual home of British motor racing, near Chichester in West Sussex. The lovingly restored circuit, unchanged from its heyday, echoes with golden-age Grand Prix cars from the fifties and sixties, as well as thundering sports cars and little-seen Formula Juniors. Many of these important historic cars are driven by famous faces from motor sport past and present, with the likes of Sir Stirling Moss, David Coulthard and Damon Hill all taking part at the Revival.

Rachel O’Shea, Senior Brand Manager, Penfolds, comments, “Sponsorship of the Goodwood Revival is the perfect partnership between two historic pleasures. What better environment to enjoy a glass of Penfolds wine than at an event where you can witness the best of the best in iconic motor racing.”
