Cars Int entry for Goodwood Revival

Cars International Kensington joins big names and enters the £30 Million club

Cars Int entry for Goodwood Revival Tourist Trophy

Cars  International  Kensington,  a  leading  worldwide  supplier  of  high-performance road  and  racing  cars,  has  secured  its  place  amongst  £30  million  worth  of  racing exotica  and  motor  racing  legends,  after  its  beautiful  1964  Ferrari  250  Lusso  was included into the entry of the famous RAC Club T.T. Race at the Goodwood Revival (August 31 – September 2, 2007).

The driver pairing of Paul Osborn – Director of Cars International – and Sky Sports motorsport presenter Tony Jardine will share the sleek red 250 Lusso in the one hour race,  pitted  against  such  racing  legends  as  Sir  Stirling  Moss,  five  times  Le  Mans winner Derek Bell and former British Grand Prix winner Johnny Herbert.

The preparation division of Cars International is lead by ex F1 engineer Tim Preston, who will prepare the Ferrari 250 Lusso. “At  Cars  International  Service  we  restore  and  maintain  both  modern  and  classic sports and racing cars cars.  The Goodwood Revival is always a special event for us and this will be the second time we will have prepared the Ferrari for Paul and Tony to race at the event.”

Tony  Jardine,  also  competing  in  the  St  Mary’s  Trophy  in  a  Classic  Castrol  backed Mini Cooper alongside owner and builder Rae Davis, has always been in love with Ferraris and Goodwood.

“To race a Ferrari for only the second time in my career is momentous.  The Cars International  Service  team  let  me  test  the  aluminium  bodied  car  at  the  Goodwood Revival  press  day  in  July,  and  I  immediately  fell  in  love  with  its  grace,  shape  and handling.  The team forgave me for scraping their precious car along the chicane wall - but at least I was trying!  If we manage to get our more powerful engine in time we will surprise a few legends and create our own bit of history!” Jardine and Osborn are regular attendees at the new ‘must go’ Goodwood Revival, as they believe the event is a magical step back in time.

Osborn said, “It is a mixture of serious racing and serious socialising, against a time warp backdrop.  We supply high performance road and racing cars from the 50’s through to the present day, and sell glamour and magic in exotic cars, so it’s a great fit.” Jardine agrees and added, “This is motor racing as it should be.  The restored track in unchanged since the original.  This year we will even have 12 grid girls in colourful swinging sixties outfits to join the 60 or so actors who will bring a sense of style and theatre to the event – never mind the bulk of the 80,000 strong crowd who religiously attend in period dress.”
