Television coverage of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB will shortly step up another gear when the Motorsport UK series resumes in late April. In a boost to the original TV plan for 2008, Motorsport UK will be broadcast on ITV1 as well as on ITV4 and the 'Men and Motors' satellite channel.Building on the success of the 2007 Motorsport UK series, the Carrera Cup will feature prominently in a new 32-week run of the half-hour programme, which starts on Tuesday 29 April. The first Carrera Cup action is scheduled for the programme of Tuesday 20 May, covering the opening races of the season at Brands Hatch.Current scheduling has the programme going out just after midnight on ITV1, having earlier been screened on ITV4 during Tuesday afternoon. A repeat will be broadcast on ITV4 later in the week and the programme will then be shown on 'Men and Motors'.The TV package for the Carrera Cup works hand-in-hand with the excellent TV arrangements for the BTCC, which features extensive coverage on ITV4 during a five-hour live programme. Whilst this coverage focuses on the BTCC races, the opening programme of the series from Brands Hatch on Sunday 30 March included live coverage of the second Carrera Cup GB race of the weekend.
