Rodriguez (GP) wins in race 1 ahead of the surprising Guimaraes (TP)The Spanish leads the championship, ahead of his team-mate Onidi
Roldan Rodriguez won Euroseries 3000's race-1 in Valencia.
GP Racing's Spanish took his second victory at home after winning his debut race in Vallelunga.
The GP2 driver started from the front row, behind surprising Brazilian poleman Felipe Guimaraes, at his first race with TP Formula's Lola-Zytek.
The 17-years-old South-American came second and managed to stay ahead of the more experienced Rodriguez just at the first turn. Then the Spaniard took the lead at the second turn.
Third step of the podium for another rookie, the Adam Khan from Pakistan , which compled a good day for Traini's and Pomozzi's TP Formula team.
With today's victory, Rodriguez takes the lead of the European championship with 24 points: the same as Fabio Onidi, who has just a win.
GP Racing's Italian driver finished seventh in Race-1, after an initial contact with Luiz Razia (Elk Motorsport) and a drive through penalty.
Onidi follows Rodriguez also in the the Italian championship (Valencia's race is also valuable for the Italian F.3000 series), where the Spanish driver has a 6 points gap. Behind the podium positions came Nico Prost (Elk), Omar Leal (Durango) and Fabio Beretta (Elk).
Luiz Razia, after contact with Onidi, was forced to retire.
Race-2 will start today(29/6) at 10:00 (23 laps) and will be broadcast live by Nuvolari TV.
Dracone and Onidi will start from the first row.
Roldan Rodriguez (GP Racing) took his second success of the season in the championship:
"Winning wasn't easy, with such hot temperatures. I dedicate the success to the team. To stay ahead of Guimaraes was hard, because he was pushing a lot. In the end I had a problem with the sixth gear, but I managed to mantain the pace."
Felipe Guimaraes (TP Formula), 17-years-old, took second place with TP Formula's Lola-Zytek: "To manage to take the pace of an experienced GP2 and F.3000 driver such as Rodriguez, was fantastic. At the start I tried to stay in front of him, but I could not. I'm already thinking to tomorrow's race, where I will start from behind and I should try to start well."
Adam Khan (TP Formula), third in race-1 behind his team-mate Guimaraes: "I'm satisfied for the result. After a good start, the characteristics of the track were not good for overtaking, so I had so be happy with third place."
