Räikkönen Robertson Suilverstone Podium

Rounds five and six of the Formula BMW Europe series took place at Silverstone this weekend, July 5th and 6th, and in front of the large crowd gathered for the British Grand Prix Räikkönen Robertson Racing's Michael Christenson took a superb second place in Saturday's race- with all three of the team's drivers in the top ten overall. The Dane was also the team's best finisher in Sunday's wet race, coming home eighth just ahead of British team-mate Rupert Svendsen-Cook.

"It was appositive weekend for the team," said Räikkönen Robertson Racing's Will Davidson. "It was great to record our first podium, and we are all really pleased with Michael's result. Carlos showed pace all weekend and it was Rupert's best weekend, we are continuing to improve."

Michael had been the team's leading qualifier in both races, claiming fourth on the grid for each round in Friday's sessions, with Carlos Huertas eighth for race one and Rupert just missing a top-ten starting slot. Qualifying for round six saw Rupert eighth, with Carlos disappointed in 21st.

From the start of Saturday's race Michael moved up to second, and held the position over the 25-minute race, the leading rookie home in the 29-car field.

"Although I got off to a good start, I was very tense in the first three laps," said Michael "Then I found there was no danger coming from behind and I calmed down. I'm very satisfied with my best result for the season, particularly given that this is my first season."

Carlos claimed sixth place, while Rupert was the first Briton in the field home taking ninth. Sunday's wet race was harder for the team, with Michael and Rupert in the top-ten, and Carlos finishing 16th. The results leave Räikkönen Robertson Racing fourth in the team standings, with Michael second in the Rookie championship.
