Mintex heads off to Prague with CzechWrecks 2008

We're proud to announce that we have agreed a sponsorship deal with a team competing in CzechWrecks, the street safari, which takes place in August 2008.

CzechWrecks is a road challenge across Europe. The journey begins in Calais on 29th August and will finish in Prague on 1st September 2008. Each team entered must use a vehicle which costs less than £100, be an M plate or older, and must be legal and road safe.

There are many teams entered from the UK, one being Pist 'n Rust-eee, which is based on 'Lightning McQueen' from the Pixar film “Cars” as well as the fact that the car lives up to its name by being a bit old and a bit rusty of course!  It's a 1990 Volvo 740 in red and complete with Mintex branded livery.

The members of Pist 'n Rust-eee are Nigel Metcalfe, Tim White and Steve Markwell, who with the help of Mintex supplying “Lightening McQueen” with brake friction, will be driving in aid of Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity, and hope to raise in excess of £2,500.

First pictures of the car can be seen, although at the moment there is still an awful lot of work to do!
