MSA British Kart Championship

Rounds 9 & 10: Whilton Mill, Northants

A good start by Chris Rogers in the first final leapfrogged Denis Gorman and set him up for the move on polesitter Lee Bell.  Mark Litchfield took a big cut over the turn one kerbs to pass Gorman then effortlessly snatched second from Bell, before going into the lead through the kink.  Rogers fought straight back up the hill into Christmas corner, only for Litchfield to return the favour two laps later.  Rogers was wise to the renewed attack on the last lap, Litchfield trying the switchback on the last corner sequence only for Bell to sneak second over the line.  In the second final, provisional champion Litchfield wasted little time relieving Rogers of the lead, and any pressure was removed with the failure of Rogers' motor.  That left Bell to inherit second with Richard Bradley third then a long gap to Nicholas Yelloly.
