PistonHeads Show Grows For 2009

Taking place in January alongside Autosport International, the PistonHeads Show can confirm extended dates for 2009. Increasing its three-day format to four, PistonHeads now includes trade access on the Thursday and will take place from 8 to 11 January 2009.

Based at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, PistonHeads, the Performance Car Show, will occupy a premium location within Autosport International following its 2008 success.

The PistonHeads Show will host several new features, including the ‘Five Decades of the 911’ display, showcasing the legendary car’s design evolution over the years with over 20 Porsches. Also in the pipeline are an Iconic Car display presented by Swissvax and the Hand Built British Sports Car Pavilion as well as a reprise of last year’s much acclaimed PistonHeads Members’ Car Display and PistonHeads’ very own bar.

“2008 was our inaugural year and the response from both the industry and the public was amazing,” said PistonHeads Show Manager David Ryan. “The PistonHeads Members’ Car Display was remarkable too. Car owners took to the concept extremely well and the result was an incredible collection of over 150 fantastic cars.

“We have made several changes to the show for 2009, taking visitors’ and exhibitors’ feedback into consideration, and expect next year’s show to be an improvement on our 2008 success.”

“Its fantastic to see the PistonHeads Show return for 2009, not just for the brand but for the PistonHead readers too,” added PistonHeads Brand Manager Paul Garlick. “As one of the largest motoring community websites available it's great to have a venue where like minded enthusiasts can get together and celebrate cars. We can't wait to be there, and neither can the readers.”

Exhibitors already confirmed include Autodelta, who will be bringing the stunning Alfa Romeo 8C, and a first appearance from The Sat Nav Warehouse who will display the latest high-tech Snooper Sat Nav systems and speed camera detectors. StreetSafari will also be present, returning to the show for the second year running.

The street-rally organisers hosted two spectacular runs to the PistonHeads Show last January for PistonHeads.com members, one from the north, starting in Leeds and the other from the south at the Dunsford track in Surrey. Both runs took place simultaneously on the first day of the show, enabling high-performance car enthusiasts to arrive in an impressive convoy.

“We were excited by the opportunity to take the internet’s most vibrant online motoring community on this outstanding UK run,” said StreetSafari founder Justin Clements. “It took 2,000 miles of recce, and a lot of planning but it was worth it; these were some of the best runs we have ever done.”
