Gregor Fisken and John Clark will share a Jaguar E-Type for a third consecutive season in 2010 after confirming their entry in the GT & Sports Car Cup
The Scotsmen have enjoyed many successes together in recent years, including victory at Monza and a podium finish at the Silverstone Classic in 2008, and now plan to challenge for honours in the series which caters for Pre-1966 GTs and Pre-1963 Sports Cars.
The GT & Sports Car Cup comprises four rounds at some of Europe’s most prestigious historic race meetings. This year it will visit the International Trophy at Silverstone, Coppa Intereuropa at Monza, Gold Cup at Oulton Park and finish with a two-hour race at the Grand Prix Historique at French circuit Ledenon.
Gregor, owner of London’s foremost historic automobile dealership, Fiskens, has successfully mixed his activities in modern and historic racing in recent years. One of only a handful of drivers to have competed at the Le Mans 24 Hours in all four classes, he was a double race winner in the British GT Championship last season and also boasts wins in the Goodwood Tourist Trophy, Tour Auto and Monaco Historic GP on his racing CV.
The Dundee-born Fisken is looking forward to trying to add to that tally when he teams-up with former BTCC racer Clark again this year.
Gregor Fisken: “John and I have a great understanding as team-mates and I’d like to thank him for inviting me back to race with him again this year. His E-Type is always beautifully prepared and is a true joy to race, especially at circuits with the enormous tradition of Silverstone and Monza. We’ve enjoyed some very strong results together in the past and I believe that can continue in 2010
“While I will continue to explore possibilities in modern racing this season, I have a huge passion for historic motorsport and I’m delighted to be competing in the GT & Sports Car Cup, which always attracts a stunning array of cars each year.”
