Scuderia Coloni aims for a great showing in the Valencia weekend. The GP2Main Series will hold the fourth event of the season on the street circuitcreated using the roads of the America’s Cup harbour, racing alongside F1’sEurope Grand Prix.
The Italian team is very confident looking to the Spanish race because thisyear it already showed a special feeling for street circuits closing the twoMontecarlo races just shy of the podium. Even if Valencia, with two longstraights and an higher average speed, is very different from Monaco, the teamis ready to give its drivers two very competitive cars.
The drivers will have to make the most of them, but the team is very confidentalso from this point of view: Alberto Valerio has a great feeling with theSpanish track, proved with the third fastest lap in the race last year, beatedonly by Nico Hulkenberg and Vitaly Petrov. Also Vladimir Arabadzhiev is gettingquicker and quicker race after race, and good results seem just around thecorner.
The weekend will start on Friday with Free Practice at 11:55 and qualifying at15:55. Race 1 will start on Saturday at 15:40 while Race 2 will be held onSunday at 10:35.
Paolo Coloni: “Valencia is a special event, both for the track and for what’saround it. The team arrives in Spain with a very positive mood and we knowthat aour drivers have everything it’s needed to make two great races. Albertoshowed in Monaco that he loves racing on street circuits so we expect a greatperformance, and Vladimir is progressing very well so he will have the chanceto clinch some good results”.
