Barba and McLeod to continue their duel in Magny-Cours

New star Filgueira as key outsider

The European F.3 Open is ready for the fourth round of the season, which willtake place in one of the most demanding GP tracks, Magny-Cours. This Frenchround, where the European F.3 Open will share the limelight with theInternational GT Open and the Auto GP, promises to be particularly exciting.The title battle is more open than ever, following the Spa round, where the gapbetween the two main contenders, Marco Barba (Cedars) and Callum MacLeod(West-Tec) was reduced to a mere five points. The Spaniard is still leadingahead of the Briton, 69 points versus 64.

Still, the two are not the only candidates to victory. Both José Luis Abadín(Drivex) and Kevin Ceccon (RP Motorsport) have proven recently that they areready to climb to the highest step on the podium. So is also Carlos Muñoz(Porteiro), but the young Spaniard will have to miss the French round, as theteam is waiting that his boss, Santiago Porteiro, recovers from the serious quadaccident he suffered in Spa’s paddock.

Observers will, of course, have their sight put on Aaron Filgueira, whose talenthas impressed in this first part of the season. The young Spaniard of Drivex hastaken his main win in Spa, after an incredible demonstration, and is dominatingthe Cup standings ahead of Villalba, Montserrat and Jammal.

A total of 19 cars have been entered in Magny-Cours, where Frenchrepresentation will be in the hands of one team, Top F3, with Romain Vozniakand a driver still to be defined at the wheel of its machines, and of EmmanuelPiaget (MP Racing).

The Magny-Cours races will count on the usual TV coverage, which includes livebroadcasting in Spain (Canal + Deportes, Intereconomía TV and some regionalnetworks), Italy (Nuvolari), the Middle East (OTV) and Iceland (RV Island), andadditional delayed summaries in 50 European countries (Motors TV) and LatinAmerica (Fox Sports).
