CLAUS Vissing has re-signed for Stoke after agreeing a deal for the remainder of the season.Vissing left the Potters after a month-long spell in the team when he appeared likely to move back into the Elite League, but that did not occur and he now returns as a replacement for injured skipper Jason Bunyan.Bunyan has had his broken arm plated and insists he will battle hard to regain fitness after an injury-hit season. He said: "Before surgery I had to sign a disclaimer that if the operation went wrong I may never have feeling in the arm or even have the use of it again as they had to mess about with some nerves to do the procedure, but hey, that's just one of those things when racing speedway."The doctors are pretty happy with how things went which is good news but no doubt we will know more in the coming days."

READING Speedway fans will have to wait a little longer before witnessing the start of building work on their new stadium. When the old Smallmead stadium closed down in October 2008, plans were prepared for a new venue in Island Road. The deadline for Gaming International, who have the controlling rights, to confirm these plans will be effected, has now passed, but has been extended until next March. This is in order to allow Gaming International to meet a number of conditions which are necessary before construction starts.A council statement read: "Reading Borough Council's position has always been that we remain fully committed to the delivery of a new stadium to host top-class speedway and greyhound racing in Reading, and that remains the case."
