STOKE overcame the double injury absence of Claus Vissing and Hynek Stichauer to secure all three points from their home clash with Scunthorpe.Stichauer is set for an operation on a broken hand and Vissing has an ankle injury after both crashed in the reverse fixture on Friday. But with Jan Graversen, Taylor Poole, Ricky Wells and guest Josef Franc all in double-figures the Potters gained a 53-40 win at Loomer Road.Manager Malcolm Vasey said: "It was an excellent performance by everyone and I feel the team is starting to gel together despite the serious set backs weseem to keep getting. "The last week has been disastrous for us losing riders to injuries and despite all that we've really torn apart a very good Scunthorpe side."

BERWICK inflicted another blow to Birmingham's title aspirations with a50-43 win over the Brummies at Shielfield Park.Reserve Michal Rajkowski again proved to be a trump card for the Banditswith 14 (paid 15) in a solid all-round effort, whilst the visitors relied too heavily on veteran duo Jason Lyons and Steve Johnston. And Berwick co-owner John Anderson is optimistic that his side have the ability to secure a place in the end-of-season Young Shield competition. He said: "There was still an occasional weak moment to concern us, but this was a far better team effort by the whole squad with Michal Rajkowski excelling once more against a good side many expected to win here tonight."If we can continue this style of riding then we should be able to clinchour place in the Young Shield much sooner rather than later."
