The Classic Sports Car Club was set up in 2001 by enthusiast racers who wanted to offer racing at grass roots level and since then the has grown to over 700 members and runs more than ten race weekends each year. Along with a full national race programme we also invite our members to attend European race weekends at Spa and the Nurburgring ans regularly receive invites from other high profile meetings to provide support events such as the 2008 WTCC meeting at Brands Hatch and the 2009 inaugral Formula 2 meeting at Donington Park. The CSCC organises five race series' of its own, “Swinging Sixties” for 1960’s era Sports and Saloon car, “Tin Tops” for saloons and hatchbacks of all ages, “Future Classics” for Sports Saloons and GT cars up to 1990, “Magnificent 7s” for all Lotus 7 inspired cars and (NEW FOR 2010), the “Classic K” Series for FIA Appendix compliant cars. Several of Jem Marsh’s Marcos creations race regularly in both Swinging Sixties and Classic K.
A unique aspect of the Club’s series’ is that its UK races are all a 40 minute “mini-enduro” format featuring a compulsory pit stop for one or two drivers. 2 cars can also compete in a “relay” format.
